Letter From Dr. Horn

In 2005, I founded Vision for Life because of my deep interest in medicine and caring for people. This combination has elevated our practice to be one of the largest and most advanced ophthalmology practices in the Nashville region. We specialize in vision correction procedures such as advanced lens replacement surgery, LASIK, and treatments for a variety of eye conditions.

We focus on a “patient first” philosophy. I operate in a facility that uses the latest & most advanced technology to match each of our patient’s individual needs. Patient experience is the single most important focus of my practice. I want my patients to feel like they are at home and not like a number. It’s all about putting patients at ease with warmth, compassion and following through with great results. We are so glad you chose the best, “Vision for Life.”

Vision Correction for All Ages

By the time people reach adulthood, they may have already been living with eyeglasses and contact lenses for many years. At this stage in life, though, you can now consider a permanent solution for vision correction. The most common vision correction procedure for people ages 21-44 is LASIK. LASIK vision correction surgery offers exceptional results that are often better than 20/20.

Most drastic changes in the eyes begin between 45 and 55 years old. Your ability to read objects at a close distance, such as newspapers, cell phones, computers, menus, and books weakens. This common condition is known as “presbyopia”, or loss of close-up vision. One popular treatment is Custom Lens Replacement (CLR), also known as Refractive Lens Exchange. With CLR our patients can reclaim clear vision while preventing cataracts in the future!

After age 55, your eyes go through significant changes that slowly affect your vision. The presbyopia, or problem with close-up vision, continues to develop from your mid-40s to later in life. The lens hardens and may also become discolored and cloudy, two symptoms of cataracts. Everyone develops cataracts at some point, and we have many different lens replacement solutions available for your specific lifestyle.
